This webinar will provide an introductory overview of how planners can ensure land use decision-making near airports is compatible with aviation safety, operational viability, regulatory compliance, and community wellbeing. The session will have an emphasis on land use matters experienced at community and regional airports and address the main considerations planners should be aware of, tools to guide your work, common challenges, and best practices.
Presented by HM Aero Aviation Consulting is an airport planning, engineering, and advisory services consultancy with extensive experience working with clients throughout Alberta. Ben Crooks is a Registered Professional Planner and Member of the Canadian Institute of Planners with a background in both municipal and airport planning. Ben has assisted 20+ municipalities, aerodrome operators, and industry associations throughout Alberta on long-term airport planning and development projects, land use compatibility exercises, economic viability studies, and business development efforts.
